LangGraph published 1.2.16 on October 16, 2026. This is an orchestration-runtime update, not a new agent product.
What changed
- Resumed commands should apply their update once, and completed subgraph tasks should not run again when resumed.
- An invalid resume value should no longer prevent other tasks from finishing. The release also fixes saving pending writes for resumed exit runs.
- The included changelog covers checkpoint-postgres 3.2.0, adding pruning to PostgresSaver and AsyncPostgresSaver. This belongs to the checkpoint package, not a claim that every core installation gains a database service.
Two related releases landed that day: Python SDK 0.4.8 surfaces thread-stream errors and stops retrying rejected streams; CLI 0.4.36 accepts deployment aliases and uses the active Docker context when deploying.
Who should check it
Teams using interrupted workflows, subgraphs or Postgres checkpoint storage have concrete upgrade reasons. Check the specific packages your application installs rather than assuming the core, SDK, CLI and checkpoint packages share one version.
License and cost
The release-tag license is MIT. Software licensing is separate from hosted-service, inference and infrastructure charges; this note does not claim a free hosted tier.
These changes are reported by the maintainers. We have not independently benchmarked the release.
