OpenCode published v1.19.3 on October 16, 2026, following v1.19.2 earlier that day. This note groups those related 1.x patches instead of presenting each as a new product launch.

Reasoning configuration

Version 1.19.3 allows model reasoning options to generate reasoning variants. Those generated variants replace the catalog variants while retaining variant overrides that the user has configured.

This is a client-configuration change. The notes do not claim a newly released underlying model or establish a benchmark improvement.

Staying on OpenCode 1

Version 1.19.2 changes ordinary update checks to use the npm opencode-ai latest version for the 1.x line. Moving to OpenCode 2 remains an explicit choice through the 2.0 offer in /update or the major-upgrade command.

The same patch fixes Yarn-managed upgrades, checks availability before offering tap or Chocolatey updates and skips 1.x updates for Homebrew Core installations, which track OpenCode 2. The install script refuses 2.x versions. Users should therefore check their package-manager channel rather than assume every installation follows the same update path.

License and scope

The v1.19.3 repository carries the MIT license. It does not include an entitlement to free inference from every supported provider. This release report does not quote a hosted-plan price or claim hands-on testing.

For product context, see OpenCode and the earlier v1.19.0 upgrade-path note.
