On October 8, 2026, Functionize released an MCP server that connects Functionize Studio to the coding agents teams already use. A developer can ask, in plain language, for a smoke or regression suite. Studio builds it, runs it against the application, and returns what broke in the same conversation.

The company's post says the coding agent can pass Studio the requirement, the code that changed, and where coverage is thin. Studio maps that onto the user flows it already models and tests those flows against the real app. A human still decides what the change was meant to do.

At launch, the server is available to Functionize Studio customers and trial users. Functionize says it works with Claude Code, Claude Desktop, Cursor, GitHub Copilot in Visual Studio Code, and any MCP client. A Claude Code plugin adds skills for Studio. Setup notes are at functionize.com/mcp.

This is a commercial server, not an open-source repo. Nearby filings: WinDbg MCP and the GitHub MCP server 1.0.

Questions

What is Functionize?

Functionize Studio builds and runs tests against a real application. In October 2026 Functionize shipped an MCP server so Claude Code, Cursor, GitHub Copilot, and other MCP clients can ask for a smoke or regression suite from chat.

What are Functionize alternatives on this site?

This site does not list a second test-authoring product. The nearby MCP servers are GitHub's MCP server and WinDbg MCP, which expose different tools.
