Five launches: OpenCode 2.0, OpenHands 1.27, and three agent tools
Updated 1 min read
Summary
The October 13 radar covers five sourced launches from October 6 through October 12: OpenCode, OpenHands, Functionize MCP, WinDbg MCP, and Mecum.
This issue is the week of October 6–12, published October 13. Five filings cleared the bar: a dated primary source, a product you can actually point at, and no invented price.
What changed
OpenCode 2.0 is the coding-agent headline. The New Stack reported that the terminal, desktop, and web apps now sit on one shared service. The client remains the MIT-licensed repository at anomalyco/opencode.
OpenHands 1.27 is the framework headline. The release notes, as reported from GitHub, add an agent-assisted way to set up automations, keep drafts, and connect Agent Canvas to DigitalOcean Managed Agents.
The other three are tools around agents rather than another chat window:
- Functionize MCP lets Claude Code, Cursor, and Copilot ask Studio for a smoke or regression suite.
- WinDbg MCP puts Copilot on an active Windows debugger session, safeguards on.
- Mecum is a free Apache-2.0 Mac app that gives an agent a virtual display so you keep the cursor.
What we left out
Older 2026 entries are still in the directory, including the OpenAI Agents API and Devin Voice. They are not in this issue because they are outside the week. Star counts and benchmark tables are omitted on purpose.
If you only read one guide after this, make it Best free AI voice models in 2026 or OpenCode vs Cline vs Aider.
